What is Stranded Deep about?
Stranded Deep can be described as a survival game. It is an open world, first-person game. The game was made by Beam Team Games who are an Australian studio. The game was made to work on PS4, macOS, Linux, and Windows Microsoft.
Stranded Deep occurs in the vast Pacific ocean. It begins with a really exciting plane crash scene, after which you, the player finds himself in the middle of the ocean with an island in sight.
While on the island you will have to slowly level up and build things or hunt animals for survival. So note that the game mechanics won’t allow you to hunt right away. You will have to slowly progress through the game for that. As the game goes on, you will be facing life-threatening situations, but you will explore the beautiful Pacific islands, ocean trenches, and reefs as well.
Gameplay
Stranded Deep comes with innovative gameplay that is generally seen in other survival games. It will keep you engaged with the exploration and survival aspects. When you will first land in the water after the plane crash, you will find a lifeboat for use. This lifeboat will contain a compass and rations too. Know that you can use this lifeboat for travelling between two or more islands.
However, you will have to anchor them otherwise it will get carried away into the ocean by the storms or currents. Know that you will be able to make your raft from various materials and components that you will find. These rafts will differ in floor, base, and propeller.
You will have to manage your vitals like hunger, health thirst, and such. Not only that, you will have to search the area around- both land and water to find interesting things for us.
The gameplay also feels real because you will be grappling with an ever present issue- thirst. To make this harder, hydration sources are low. The common source for hydration is coconut milk. Eventually, you will be making a workable water collector that will give you water as a result of evaporation from palm leaves.
While hunger is a challenge too, but there are multiple sources to get food from. In the beginning, you will be able to eat coconuts, go fishing, and use your rations. The ocean is full of life forms. You will get to see rays, sea turtles, small fishes, lionfish, starfish, whales, swordfish, snakes, and sharks too of course. Just like in real life, in the game too, not all sharks are actively out to harm you. Sharks like the Great White are threatening can attack you. Also, know that if they bump into your raft, then it can flip over.
Exploration is a big part of the game and you will almost begin immediately after reaching the island. But if you are planning on exploring the ocean right at the beginning, then it’s advised that you wait for a little. First look at your surroundings and check to see if you have supplies or not. Only after taking an inventory and ensuring that you have enough supplies, should you go out into the ocean.
However, it must be said that the shipwrecks and islands all start to feel similar after you spend a little time in the game. Not to mention the fact that the quality of life mechanics could be better as well.

So you will have to engage in other ways to get or store food.
