Vampire: The masquerade- Coteries of New York is a chronicle experience set in the universe of Vampire: The masquerade 5th edition. The game shows the conflict between two vampiric factions- The conservative Camarilla and the truly independent Anarchs showered in the night lights of Big Apple.
The unsuspecting player character is transformed into a vampire by a mysterious stranger. The vampires are picked up by Sharif Qadir al- Asmal and are taken to the court before prince Hellene.
Choose one of the characters of Ventrue, Toreador, or Brujah and play their character. Every character has a selection of powers, various ethical approaches to unique dialog lines. Your ability to see events from a distinct perspective depends on the choice of your clan. Different paths lead to a grand finale which will leave you surprised and eager to see more.
Gameplay
Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York is a single-player adventure game with primarily text-based gameplay. It involves the player making dialogue and story choices Being a vampire the character of the player needs to balance the bloodthirst with their humanity. They also have to ensure that they do not reveal their identity as vampiric, breaking the Masquerade. With the game’s main quest the player also gets access to the side quests and loyalty quest. The loyalty quests involve creating bonds with the characters.
The player’s character belongs to one of the three clans which affect their dialogues ad ethics. The choice of the clan also determines the vampiric abilities that the player can use. Like, the Brujah character uses Celerity and Potence which means increased speed and increased strength respectively. Character Toreador also can use Celerity and Auspex which means supernatural sense as their ability.

The features of the game are very interesting. The features make the game more interesting. Some of the features are as follows:

Since it is a visual novel, you can understand it’s all about the story. No one will deny that the writing is pretty good and so the game can be played till the end in a single sitting. However, Coteries of New York was a short experience lasting a maximum of 4-5 hours. The game turns the player into a newly turned vampire.

There the player learns the vampire law that is a course of Masquerade. The vampires in the game make sure that the humans do not find out about the presence of vampires. Then the players will learn Vampire 101 which teaches the basics of vampires. The next step is building your coterie (gang). While you are struggling here a bigger conspiracy is being unfolded in the background.

The game features nice artwork. The background and characters have a very different aesthetic which fits the overall theme perfectly. The sounds are given at the apt moment.
